Rodrigo Nascimento, Head of Cloud & Platform Engineering at Codurance has joined techUK’s Cloud Leadership Committee, alongside other UK Cloud Leaders in the industry from businesses including AWS, Microsoft, Google, IBM and Oracle.
The Cloud Leadership Committee provides strategic direction for techUK’s Cloud Computing Programme, contributing to work on cloud computing, industry collaboration and best practice across industry, academia, civil society and government.
The Committee will identify key opportunities and challenges for accelerating adoption of cloud computing in the UK, help to develop techUK’s policy priorities regarding cloud services, and steer the development of thought leadership activity to promote best practice.
Key responsibilities over the 2 year term include:
- Steer techUK’s cloud programme and agree priority issues and areas where specific action is needed to increase the adoption, deployment and use of cloud services across both the public and private sector.
- Act as an “issue filter” to identify and prioritise issues relevant to the cloud industry that should be addressed by techUK.
- Lead the responses required within relevant policy areas and act as a trusted sounding board for government and policy makers seeking input on cloud issues.
- Work directly with external stakeholders and interact with other techUK groups on specific cloud industry issues.
- Provide an authoritative and recognised voice on all cloud issues in the UK.
Cloud computing is a key driver of the UK’s data-driven economy, with cloud-based platforms, infrastructure and services supporting UK businesses across every industry and sector. techUK's work focuses on ensuring the UK stays at the forefront of cloud adoption and is a single point of contact for UK government and key stakeholders on issues impacting the development of the UK cloud market and industry.
